watercolour woman

A watercolour portrait after a long time! I did it from a TV grab. This lady might be a TV actress , I dont know...just liked her face hidden half in shadows as she stands in her kitchen.I did it in two sittings, using layers, unlike my previous portraits which I finish in one go.Striving to get more control.
Watercolour, A4 size cold pressed paper.

Nice one, Arti. It's funny but I sit with my camera during a movie at home and often stop the movie to snap a shot of a still life or beach scene to possibly paint later on. I've never heard of anyone else doing that until just now. Great minds think alike! :)

I have heard quite a few artists use tv scene as inspiration for their painting. I have captured a couple but havent put that on paper yet. Yours is great!

You are right,Carol :) I keep my mobile with me all the time, which has a good camera in it.So its easy to take a shot if something interesting comes up on the telly! It also keeps the feeling of guilt away- I am at least not copying a picture!

Another beautiful portrait, Arti! Her hair is just amazing! You can see the layering of color and it just shines!
