Blue Crab Acrylic Painting

Blue European Crab
16x12''
Acrylics on ampersand board
This is something new and unusual for me.Acrylics look lovely and vibrant but its a struggle trying to blend them;they dry too quickly.I tried an Ampersand board this time and it worked far better than a canvas. It was not a pain working on this crab at all- and I quite like the outcome.Hopefully, more to follow!

  1. very nice :)

you can get an extender medium to put into the acrylics that i find helps slow down drying time

  3. Beautiful, Arti! Did you use an Ampersand watercolor board? Did you dilute the paints or use them full strength? I Love your style. :)

    1. Thanks Mary.I bought this board so long ago that I forgot exactly which one it is..may be it was just a wooden panel which I had gessoed. I diluted the acrylics using water and an extender gel. Thanks for leaving the comment.
