Happy Days!

Watercolor study of a nine year old- my niece, actually- but I changed the color of hair and eyes to make her look..well; .global! She could be any child from any place on this planet. Just a happy child!
I am trying to minimise the use of pencil in my watercolors. This one had no drawing at all.
I just started with a brush. And my usual palette!
watercolor, 7"x 5"

  1. Beautiful job, Arti! I love the colors you've added to the hair! I tried minimal use of pencil in my last piece, something hard for me to do. I am amazed at the detailing around the eyes just with a brush! What a fabulous piece!

  3. Hi Arti,
Have to tell you your global look as you call it is really working. My grandoughter Isabella is almost 10, and this.... looks like her portrait. Incredible, what are the chances of that happening? You captured in the expression the joy of life in your incomparable way!Bravissima
