Midnight Rose

Here I have been trying to create an artwork combining both- the abstract and the realistic approach...(without much success, it seems!) I have also used some negative painting here.
The experiment with darks still continues...I am posting it here even if I am not happy about it - keeps life from getting boring :)

  1. Arti, what gorgeous colors! The background is full of mystery and draws in the viewer closer. I would call this a real success!

  2. I agree with Christiane. The rich background blue gives this work an aura and an air of mystery. Fabulous.

  6. I do love each of the individual parts, the way everything is painted. I don’t see the abstract though. If you hadn’t mentioned where you wanted to go with this, I wouldn’t have noticed something wasn’t working.

  7. This is going somewhere good. I want to see a little more abstraction though. But I can feel you are heading somewhere new. Thats good.

  8. Arti, why you do not like it? To me it looks really beautiful, even if I do not see the abstract though. I would say that the background is very well painted and the rose looks under a romantic moon light. Well done! Ciao.

  9. Oh wow, Arti! This is so magical, a rose blooming at night and lit with moonlight. I love the palette of blue, green, and a bit of the purple that detail the light and the leaves. Just a gorgeous piece and of course, to my mind, never boring.
