A Portrait of my son in charcoal...I did this to experiment some more with charcoal.It has been a dull and rainy day outside...so something to cheer myself up!
Usually I use grid for my pencil portrait but this one was done freehand,without any measurement.
I guess I will be doing more like these, try different paper and see what emerges!

I guess this is your son's portrait. Because the features are so strikingly yours. And this looks great. Probably there is more spontaneity in this as it is done on a whim.:)

Arti, I swear portraits are your forte. This is amazingly beautiful and I'm loving all the effects you tweaked out of the charcoal. Who needs a grid? Not you, my friend!
