Lately I have been studying a Richard Taylor book about drawing buildings.Posted above is a page from my sketchbook.Drawing buildings is so different from drawing people.More lines, more angles, almost no curves.Especially when you are not using any ruler! But its interesting, and I am going to work some more on it; to achieve correct perspective and straighter lines.

Wow, Arti! No rulers? I think that is what I do like about doing buildings is that I can (and do) use a ruler! Your work is just beautiful and I love that the builders left this lovely tree growing right in front of the store window and built the sidewalk around it!
ReplyDeletePRECIOSO!
ReplyDeleteFelicidades.
Your work with graphite pencils always amaze me. This sketch is truly beautiful...Shadings are done perfectly, Arti!! I hope you do more buildings in the future.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Arti ... and no rulers, no curves! This is why I find it so challenging. Jolly good!!

Very true, Arti! One has to be very careful while drawing buildings otherwise the painting won't look correct! I can't do without rulers :)
ReplyDeleteReally nice work...They are a difficult subject...I find it so tough to do buildings that I have not even started one for the fear of faliure.
