Everyday Life and Everyday Art

This is a painting I did last week for a blogger friend, Julie. Her beloved cat Buddy had passed away recently and I thought this painting might help her overcome her grief...
Life has been a little busy for last few days.Thursday evening was the exhibition.Saturday some friends came over and we spent the day with them. They had came from London to see my exhibition, bless them!
Sunday had a promising, sunny start and after the usual clean ups etc,I persuaded my husband to accompany me to South Hampton. With my luck, though, whole day it remained overcast and grey.... even drizzling sometimes! The sun came out only when we had caught the train back...I still managed to take some decent shots.South Hampton is a beautiful, old English town with a rich heritage.I plan to go back again sometime.
In all this melee, I forgot to buy new pair of school shoes for Arjun, who had ruined his last pair in Friday's rain.Today I had to send him in trainers, with a note of apology in his diary :( I need to get more organized......

  1. Such a gorgeous and generous gift for your friend, Arti. Her Buddy is so cute and I am sorry for her loss. Our animals become such a huge part of our lives and I can empathize with her loss.

What a busy past few days you have had!! I actually took the whole weekend off!

  3. I thought it was just me, but I see that I'm not alone. I feel like I'm chasing the sun (forecasted or not), but never catch it. The portrait is wonderful, Arti.
    Warm regards.

    1. Oh I have been looking at the sky for three months...the sunshine is so evasive, this summer is something else, really.
      Thanks for your encouragement...

  5. Beautiful portrait and a lovely gift - I actually got a good hill walk in yesterday without getting wet for the first time in a long time! What on earth has happened to our weather!

  7. Arti, I don't know what to say. I wish I could hug you, this means so much. He's perfect, especially his eyes. He's purring in that picture, probably drooling just a little. Thank you. Julie

    2. Arti, would you be willing to sell this painting to me? How much do you charge for your work? I find myself coming back to look at it. You know, he was purring when he looked that way. I can tell by how his eyes are squinched up a little.

      Hugs, Julie
