Blond and Handsome

Watercolor 7"x5"
Another small watercolor...I realized later that I could nor achieve the desired softness in his face because the paper I used was 'grain fin' !I will be doing some similar subjects again, using a smoother paper.

I have been refraining from pastels for some time- as my cough is still persistent.I don't have any evidence that pastels caused it- but since the doctors are clueless, I may as well stay on the safe side.( Though I love pastels and its tough forcing myself to stay away)
I visited the clinic this morning only to find that my chest X-Ray was fine, and they really don't have any clue as to why I am still coughing after three months!Trying on some steroids this week.Lets hope they work.
Till then, I am back to watercolor and pencil...

  1. I actually like the texture that you achieved in this piece...Wonderful light on his face and his hair is amazing as well!! I'm glad your X-Ray was fine, Arti. I always have an annoying cough as well but I think its from sinus problems. As far as pastels, I'm careful not to blow and "try" to use my mask..which I have to admit I don't use it like I should!!

    1. Glad you did! I liked the light on his face and hair. The picture was taken from a long distance as he hopped along with his mom.I also wanted to see if darker backgrounds look better.
And as for pastels, I am going to stay away for a few more weeks.I love them but it looks like they triggered some kind of allergic reaction that just won't go away...my mom is unable to understand why can't I just 'leave them alone' for a while! :)he he we know why!Don't we...?

    1. Thank you, Tony.Sadly it seems that pastels are the root cause of the problem, may be I am more susceptible to allergies. In any case I have to take a break.Well I see it as an opportunity to try acrylics!
