Portrait of a Pretty Girl in Funky Sunglasses

17"x 14"
A portrait after a long time. This is a friend of my husband and the reference picture was taken at a charity event on a gloriously sunny day as she stood texting away! I had tried a new paper- ''Fabriano Artistico'' for this and though I liked the paper in general; it was difficult to control the paint on large areas...or may be its just me-- I am just not patient enough!:)
Anyway, I am thinking of submitting this one to an upcoming exhibition where the theme is 'recreation'.Texting can be counted as 'recreational activity' ..right?

    1. Thank you for having faith in me,Hilda...I am going to submit this one to the exhibition if I don't come up with anything else in a week's time; but really I think I could have done better.I have been painting in watercolors for more than 3 years still I am unsure about them every time I paint!Having a day of 'self doubt' am I?!!!

  2. Oh I do love her funky sunglasses. She reminds me of Katie Holmes for some reason too. Love that deep green and blue background too, Arti. As always, you amaze!

    1. Thank you Sherry I am not very happy with the background; I think it is making the painting less realistic. But watercolor being watercolor- what is done is done :)BTW I loved her sunglasses, too!
