More Elephants

I don't want my elephant population to decline, so each time one sells, I paint two more! These two were painted together, using different color schemes.Blue one is more loose, I used salt texture and wet in wet to create some blooms, not much brushwork. It looks fresh!Gold one is more restrained, but the colors are still whimsical.Hope you all had a nice weekend;I had a great one!

  1. Arti, these are both so beautiful!! I am especially drawn to the softness of the blue piece; maybe because of the palette...this one is amongst my favorites!

  2. Love your gold elephant, Arti! He looks so regal and strong and wise - the patriarch of the herd perhaps?

  4. Your main focal point, the eyes and tusks, is clear in both pieces, Arti! Very skillful.

    1. I am trying to use different methods in painting the trunk. Its really fun..so much texture yet no fur to cover it up.That is what I like about painting elephants.
