Blue Bag

A4  Watercolor on CP paper
I am pretty excited about this one...a figurative work I did after a long time! In fact I have been pondering over my collection of reference pictures for a long time and really, really wanting to paint them...but just couldn't decide how to make them exciting so I kept putting it off.
With this painting, I might have found something- because I loved painting this and please tell me that you like it too!!!
BTW its a self portrait- me and my turquoise bag- though this was an old picture, I still have this bag!

  1. Wonderful painting. I like as much what isn’t shown to improve the composition.
After acquiring a lot of references to “someday” draw or paint, I find the most difficult task is deciding which one to do first, then second, and so on☺

    1. I am happy about this, too because this painting was all about the natural flow of watercolor..I never went back and tried to 'correct' any mistakes.I think that gives it a fresh look! Glad you like it :)

  6. I agree with Anthony (above). This is a beautiful painting, well executed, and the vignette style suits it well. Perhaps you can do a series of figures painted in this way.
