The Hermit _ Sold

18"x24"
Soft Pastels on Pastelmat
SOLD
I am happy to share this piece of news with you all. This Hermit from India is going to a UK household today.
Frankly speaking, I never thought it would...It is a very peculiar subject ;and not many people would buy portraits that are not their own/family.
But yesterday the CEO of my husband's firm asked to buy it when he saw it at 'FineArtAmerica' website.
So I think I sold my first portrait today which is not a commission!

  1. Congratulations, Arti! I must say that I am often surprised at how often I do see portraits sold to those to whom the portrait isn't a relative or self. Your portraits are always beautiful and this one is no exception. I would guess the buyer find this face full of life and interest.

I am not painting many portraits right now as I have not been to India for last two years and do not have anything to work from. But as summer is here I feel ready to go out and corner some British people in the park or mall to let me photograph them for portraits! LOL

  3. Arti, this is a stunning portrait. So, congratulations on the sale, but it is totally understandable why anyone would want to buy it. That that in and feel it in your bones. You deserve this.
