Picked up charcoal after a long time and did this sketch in the morning session.I have missed doing portraits and would love to do some more..This sketch reminded me how much I loved drawing- without the pressure of thinking of converting it into a painting!May be I should keep them separate.
Your work in black and white and in color is so well done - you have a good style and know your materials. I keep my graphite drawings separate from my watercolor paintings, often just a light sketch before painting but more thorough work for a graphite drawing. My portraits are not this good, though.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know, Rhonda.I just do what I can. I think I will devote some time to drawing from now on.Thanks you for your comment!
DeleteGreat sketch..
ReplyDeleteThanks Tony!
DeleteWonderful drawing!! Hope you do more. It is a treat to see your drawing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Chris.I always enjoy drawing for the sake of drawing!
DeleteLOVE IT, ARTI!!!!! I feel the same way about drawing and painting :)
ReplyDeleteKathryn
Thank you Katheryn..hope you are doing well
DeleteI thought I commented on this already..(.I guess I didn't! ) LOVE this Arti! your portraits are outstanding and hope to see more of them!
ReplyDeleteThank you Hilda, I wish I could paint or draw more portraits but sadly there is hardly anyone who has time to model. Why don't you send me your picture to try my next charcoal!!! :)
DeleteWow, this is great. I LOVE charcoal drawings, love the feel, the sound, the touch of the charcoal on the paper. I just can't draw as well as you!!!
ReplyDeleteCharcoal is a beautiful medium but I need some models to try more portraits.Feeling frustrated.I just think I would go out and ask strangers?may be.Thanks you for dropping by,Deb.
DeleteArti, your portraits are always amazing. The good thing about being a big girl and being an artist is that you don't have to live by rules or even make your own. You can do what you feel like doing - art-wise - when you feel like doing it!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry..I am happy when I am doing what I like,,but sometimes the pressure of performing starts to build up and I start thinking that I am not doing enough.Lucky to have friends like you x you keep me sane
