Kids and Pets

You can see this on James Parker's blog 'Windows to the Words Art', too. Its a submission for the current month's theme- 'Kids and their pets- matching sets'! It was tough painting the dog in watercolors , as it had very rich and dark chocolate hue...so I used dry brush technique on him...dry on wet, dry on dry, whatever worked!Little girl had a clean, fair skin so I didn't put too many washes on her.In fact she now looks a bit pale in comparison to her pet!
James liked it :) and I hope you do the same!
Thank you for you good wishes, I am still sore but hope to be alright soon. ( I did this painting in bed!)

  1. I love this, Arti! I think you did a beautiful job on the little girl's skin. It looks quite a natural skin tone for a redhead to my eyes (and I have a redhead and was born a redhead with the white skin to go along with it)! Just a beautiful painting all around!

  3. Sorry to hear of your fall - I fell a couple weeks ago - missed the one step up into the dining room and went down on my knees, was sore a couple days and used the ice pack a lot - but have survived! Hope you fare as well, and glad you didn't injure you hands.

  5. This is so nicely done. I didn't get mine done for WTTW...the black dog foiled me. I love your paintings...they are so painterly.

Your work is outstanding, especially your watercolour portraits. Thanks for sharing your work with us and I hope to see more of your masterpieces in the future.

  9. You couldn't resist painting, could you? Well, considering how difficult it would have been...subject-wise as well as with your pain and while in bed, you have painted this very nicely :)
