This is Honey, the bubbly daughter of a friend...two sittings, four hours. It was an outdoor photo with direct sunlight falling over her head. The shades on her face were quite tough to capture-but I have tried my best! Watercolor on 16"x12" paper
How did you get a little girl to sit still for so long? Your painting looks good. You did a great job on the eyes and the hair, especially. I'm finding out first hand how difficult it is to paint people as I'm working on a portrait of a young girl, too.
She's certainly a "honey!" Very well done Arti, and I must take a bow to a little girl who can sit for two hours at a time for a sitting!! Bravo to both of you!!
The first thing I noticed was the sunlight.. Its way too awesome.. The expression is great.. And the way the hair is done is one of the best I have seen..
Michelle, it was done from a photo-...by 'two sittings'I meant I did it in two sessions.I don't think it would have been possible for the child to pose for that long!Even my son doesn't agree to do it for me :)
Thank you Raimundo, Crystal and Tony.
Thanks Sherry, as I said earlier, this painting was done from a photo taken by my husband.
I think the lights in this portrait are very well! How sweet this little girl smiling.
