Autumn of Life- Portrait of an Elderly Indian Woman

                                                            Watercolor on Paper
                                                                  16"x12"
I have worked on my instinct this time, using dry brush more than wet here. This portrait took me about five hours, in two sitting. There were a lot of details in her face which I wanted to capture.I guess it has come out good and I am going to submit this one for the Art Show.
This will also be my last post this month, I am off to India tomorrow...
See you all in a few weeks' time.

  1. beautiful - I can't get my head round doing watercolour portraits unless I do them really loose, if I try to do them detailed they just look a mess and I give up! Have a wonderful trip to India

  3. Arti, this came out beautifully! I love how you've managed both the lines and texture in her skin on face and neck. I love that you are incorporating the details you get with your graphite work into your watercolor work. No one does it better than you!
