Finally I managed to get myself started on acrylics this morning. It was a fun two hour session;I painted as hubby and son slept and the house was still quiet ( it can be quite tough to paint during holidays with both of them home!) I am happy with my first effort as I wanted to explore texture and it came out well.
I might go and buy a bigger canvas today!
this is outstanding Arti!! i absolutely love all of the splashed in color and texture! beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Suzanne! I really appreciate it.
DeleteThis just looks like pure fun!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun,Deb..its always fun when you don't have to follow any rules! I hope you had a Merry Christmas.
DeleteArti, have you ever done a commission in this loose way? It really is powerful. This close up of an eye and wrinkles is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm running out of words to describe your work - amazing, awe-inspiring, beautiful, stunning, wonderful, lovely, incredible. I hope you don't mind that I repeat the same words so often.
Julie, first of all, a big thank you for this wonderful comment.I am truly happy to read this! Your words are like music to my ears..:)
DeleteAs for the commissions, they demand precision to achieve likeness so I stick to realistic style with them; at least so far I have....This looseness is something I have wanted to explore for a long time.and I am loving it!
Artie, I hope someone comes along and tells you they want to commission this loose style. It's enchanting.
DeleteHa! Another word for you.
I so love what you've done here, Arti. So cool to not paint abstract art and yet have a realistic piece that looks abstract at first glance. Gorgeous up close of the elephant's skin.
ReplyDeleteWow thanks Sherry. This is exactly what I wanted to achieve. Some magic of abstract but I still got to have a subject :) more to come...
