Two new works I have done in last few days. The robin is blended into its atmosphere with spatters and splashes in warm Yellows while the Emu is suave and crisp, Blue on White. They look crazy together :) I have been meaning to post them separately but never found the time!Anyway, her they are- take your pick :)

Top one is a commission I did for a gentleman from a nearby county in the UK.
He saw my watercolor animals and wanted me to paint his three pet guinea pigs.Since I had not painted guinea pigs before, I decided to do a trial painting first. Thus happened "Coffee and Cream" .It turned out so well that it Sold on the same day after I put in on my ArtFinder.com page!
Now both of the paintings have left for their new homes :)

Happy Together
Elephant Family _ Happy Together
14 x11
A happy family portrait of an Elephant family in multiple hues.It was initiated as a trial run for a commission but turned out quite well so I went ahead and finished it.I have since painted another one, a bigger painting for the client and she seems to be thrilled about it!I will post that later.
I hope life is treating you all very well. Past week has been very busy with painting, commissions and even a digital portrait assignment for three executives of a company- which, incidentally; was very well received. So I have not been on my blog or to anyone else's blog, for that matter.Hope to catch up soon!

Emu Watchful
8x12
I painted this handsome guy this morning, something to be proud about- as it was not even 11 am when I finished the painting.I thought it was time to experiment with some color in the background and though it was scary working wet-in-wet with all those feathers sticking out of his head and neck; I am happy to have pulled it off!The whole painting looks good with the subject lighter than the background.
