Self Portrait

.........
This is a second time that I have done a self portrait; first one was about three years ago!
The reference photo was taken by my husband in summers.I always thought it was too strong, too close- as I tried to stare into the setting sun....But today as I thumbed for subjects, I came across this one and thought- "why not!"
Today being cloudy and dull, the photo didn't come out great; sorry about that.

  1. I know that I keep saying this, but your work is stunning. You have an amazing sense of light. A career in art is difficult, but if anyone deserves it, you do.

  3. arti, this is spectacular for so many reasons! it's beautifully painted, your expression, your eyes, i feel as if i know you better from this painting than from your profile photo! and after i tore myself away from the face, eyes, hair and background, i got happily lost in the stripes of your blouse!! BRAVO! ONE OF YOUR VERY BEST EVER!

  19. I don't know what happened but I cannot see the comment I wrote to you. Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate on the excellent close-up. I like the colour of the stripes reciprocated in the shadow. Congratulation to the photographer. Great shot! ;-)

  23. Je connais la difficulté de l'autoportrait pour un peintre. C'est l'un des exercices les plus difficiles à réussir.
    Celui-ci est superbement réussi.
    Bravo,

    Roger
