This is a watercolor portrait of Brian.Brian is no more in this world, sadly; having passed away some six years ago at the age of just 22.His mom Kim commissioned his portrait after seeing the kids' portrait I recently did for my dear friend Sherry,as they both work together.
I have shipped the portrait today and hope that Kim feels at peace to see her beloved son looking down at her whenever she looks at this.

Oh Arti!!! You did such an incredible portrait of Brian. My heart goes out to his family...I know Kim will love this painting and treasure it forever.
ReplyDeleteThe painting looks great. I think these must be harder to do, with the sad history.
ReplyDeleteArti, this is such a wonderful portrait! You have captured such a happy and lively expression on Brian's face.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilda and Kathryn, it was the twinkle in his eyes that appealed to his mom in this portrait
ReplyDeleteTony ,yes they are harder to do- I had two of them back to back and it was not easy.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Arti, for doing this for Kim. Brian is so handsome and you showed that clearly. He sounds like he was a wonderful young man. Kim has a photo of him as her screen saver and every morning she comes in and kisses her fingers to his photo. She will forever cherish this piece.
ReplyDeleteThe Brian portrait looks great! I'm really sorry to know his sad story.
