Different Strokes

A lazy was raining outside so we all just lazed around. Both guys being home, not much scope for my painting. But Arjun had a project involving art and he hates to draw - so the drawing part was outsourced to me while he did the coloring , eventually :) We made a Totem Pole for his RE class project.
Here he poses proudly with his Totem....
I painted this piece on Friday, though. Wanted to paint  a woman with a hat, so here it goes...not much detail, all rounded up within an hour!

  1. Arti, you never cease to amaze me. How can you do such a beautiful watercolor, a portrait yet, in just an hour??!! That would have taken me a month to do! And? It is beautiful. Love the African theme to Arjun's totem pole too. He is lucky to have a mom who can draw!

  2. Thanks Sherry, you are so kind! I am sure you could do it if you wanted to.

  3. You are really getting a handle on the watercolor media. Looking good.

  4. Love the totem pole and the expression. Great painting too, by the way… Just enough hat to make the point…

  5. Thank you friends...its always a joy creating with your kids :)
